Laurea quadriennale a Bologna (con laudem) poi un Master triennale (vincitrice di borsa di studio) presso l’università di Milano (con laudem), vincitrice di borsa di Studio della Fondazione Longhi di Firenze.

Full Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts – Bologna University. She has organized and curated several Contemporary Art exhibitions throughout Italy, USA, Cuba. She has publications of books and articles of Art History and Contemporary Art History. Among her projects about Cuba she organized two exhibitions: Imagining Cuba/Imaginando Cuba, USA e Cuba, 2013 and Arte dall'Oriente Cubano/Arte desde el Oriente Cubano, Italy, 2014 and  she curated and translated the poetry-photography anthology: Cuba: un viaggio tra immagini e parole/Cuba: un viaje entre imágenes y palabras, 2015; in 2017 she curated the exhibition and the catalogue Immaginare l'Italia/Imagining Italy. Jury for the Painting Biennal of Chisinau, Moldavia, 2015; speaker at the international meeting  Music and Arts for Human Rights,Conservatory, Bologna, 2022 and 2023; speaker at the international meeting Mucus, Skin, Blood, and Feces. Uses and Representations of Organic Matter between Art and Anthropology, in the Middle Ages and in the Contemporary World, University, Bologna, 2023 (all with conference proceeding). In  2024 she co-curated with Dušan Josip Smodej the exhibition Deserted Island. On dropping bomb* shellswith the artists: David Birkin, Stefano Cagol, Arianna Marcolin, Hussein Nassereddine, Genny Petrotta, Raqs Media Collective, G. Olmo Stuppìa, at SPAZIO, Bologna. In 2025 she co-curated with Dušan Josip Smodej theexhibition Fragmented Nations. On dropping bomb* shells with the artists: Bojan Stojčić, Daniil Revkovsyi and Andrii Rachynskyi, Marco Brambilla, Rashid Masharawi, Sasha Kurmaz, Shabi Habib Allah, Younès Ben Slimane. Since 2016 until now she has been curating in various museums of Bologna the project of exhibitions EX with: R. Baruzzi, G. Blanco, P. Campanini, P. Chiasera, C. Chironi, R. Cremonini, F. de Marco, A. Facco, M. Fliri, A. Galvani, D. Grenci, N. Melinelli, E. Minguzzi, G. Moretti, M. Moscardini, A. Nacciarriti, M. Neri, A. Pessoli, L. Pivi, A. Salvatori, N. Samorì, V. Simone, C. Tassinari. Books: Dall’io al noi. La forza del collettivo e della relazione (ruangrupa), in RiparAzioni, 2023; Collectivos Palestinos, in the catalogue of Havana Biennale, 2024; The Last, in Park Hyesoo. A critical study, 2026. Meltemi is currently publishing 2026 the book edited by her and Dušan Josip Smodej, Art and War: Artistic Practices in the Age of Permanent Conflict..
